Shake and Trim Ounces at King of Budz
What is cannabis shake?
Shake is the loose flower that settles at the bottom of a larger batch: small nugs, broken pieces, and trichome heavy fragments that came off full size buds during handling and packaging. It is the same plant material as the flower it came from, just in smaller pieces, and that is the only reason it costs less. RedFox, Goodlyfe, and LowTek put up some of the most consistent shake ounces on the menu.
Is shake weaker than regular flower?
Not automatically. Shake is graded on piece size, not potency, so an ounce pulled from a strong batch can test in the same range as the eighths from that same batch. What you give up is bud structure and presentation, not cannabinoids. Potency still moves batch to batch, so read the THC percentage on the listing the way you would for any other flower.
What is shake best used for?
Rolling, mostly. Shake arrives close to grind consistency, so it packs joints and bowls with almost no prep and no grinder needed. It is also the practical pick for cannabutter or infused oil at home, where the flower gets decarbed and steeped anyway and bud structure stops mattering entirely. Plenty of customers run a shake ounce as the daily driver and save whole flower for the weekend.
How much cheaper is shake than whole flower?
Shake and trim ounces sit at the very bottom of the flower menu, well under a comparable ounce of prepackaged or deli flower. That gap is the entire appeal: it is the cheapest way to buy legal cannabis by weight without dropping to a weaker batch. Prices move with what is in stock, so the current ounce pricing is on the listings on this page.
What is the difference between shake and trim?
Shake is broken up bud. Trim is the sugar leaf and smaller material cut away from the bud during trimming, which carries fewer trichomes and tends to burn harsher. Most of what sells as shake here is bud shake rather than pure trim, but the two are listed together because they do the same job at a similar price point.
If the goal is the most flower per dollar, shake and trim is where the flower menu starts. Pick up an ounce for rolling or infusion, and save the deli bar and prepackaged eighths for when you want specific genetics and full size buds.
