Question 1

What is live rosin? What is live rosin concentrate?

Accepted Answer

Live rosin is a solventless cannabis concentrate made from fresh-frozen cannabis. The frozen material is first washed into ice water hash (bubble hash), then pressed with heat and pressure to extract a pure, terpene-rich oil. No chemical solvents are used at any stage, just ice water, heat, and pressure, making it one of the cleanest concentrate forms you can buy. It typically runs 65 to 85% THC with high terpene content, delivering strain-specific flavors that closely match the living plant. The labor-intensive, multi-step process is why live rosin carries a premium price tag.

Question 2

How is live rosin made? Live rosin vs live resin: what's the difference?

Accepted Answer

Both start with fresh-frozen cannabis to lock in peak terpenes and cannabinoids, but extraction is where they split. Live resin uses hydrocarbon solvents (butane or propane) to pull out cannabinoids and terpenes. Live rosin skips solvents entirely. The frozen material gets washed with ice water to separate trichome heads into bubble hash, which is dried and pressed with heat and pressure into the final product. That solvent-free process is why live rosin appeals to people who prioritize purity, and why it typically costs more than live resin.

Question 3

How to dab live rosin? Best temperature for live rosin?

Accepted Answer

Low temps are the move with live rosin. Dab at 400 to 500 degrees F using an e-rig or e-nail for precise control, or try cold start dabs where you load rosin into a cool banger and slowly heat until vapor forms. Nectar collectors work well for quick sessions too. Since live rosin is solventless and packed with terpenes, lower temperatures give you the best flavor and a smooth, full-spectrum effect that higher heat can wash out.

Question 4

Why do people love live rosin?

Accepted Answer

It comes down to purity and flavor. No chemical solvents means you're only inhaling what the plant naturally produces: cannabinoids, terpenes, and other beneficial compounds. The fresh-frozen starting material preserves the strain's real aroma and taste, so every dab reflects the actual cultivar. For people who care about clean extraction and full-spectrum effects, live rosin is hard to beat.

Question 5

How to store live rosin? Does live rosin need to be refrigerated?

Accepted Answer

Yes, live rosin should be refrigerated. Its high terpene and moisture content makes it sensitive to heat. Leaving it at room temperature can cause it to butter up, change texture, and lose the volatile terpenes that give it its flavor. Fresh press live rosin and full-melt preparations are especially sensitive and should always stay cold. Cold cured live rosin badder is more forgiving and won't break down as fast at room temp, but the fridge still preserves peak quality. At King of Budz, all live rosin is kept refrigerated in-store from the moment it arrives, and our vendor buy-back program ensures no product sits past its freshness window, so every jar you buy is at its best.
